Accepted to Amazon Handmade

While this happened in May, I just got around to listing here in October.
I've made quite a few sales already but it is the holiday season so we'll see how it goes in January.
It's quite the learning curve!

Continued Adventures in Fostering

As we approach the holidays, what could be more heartwarming than a foster for Christmas!
Our latest is a foster challenge as he is a give up with a little bit of a behavior problem.
Pet owners must always be aware of their dog's behavior and correct it quickly so it doesn't become a problem.
He is adorable and that might just be a part of the situation.
It must be difficult to discipline a cute fluffy puppy but for the good of the dog, this must be done.
Mouthiness turns to biting.
Aggressive barking turns into aggression.
Guarding turns into a problem.
These things need to be worked out early.
So here we have our newest foster.
Bello
He's doing well in our care.
He will need a specific type home with a strong willed person willing to give Bello structure.
We hope it doesn't take too long.
Meanwhile, our bathroom is finished finally!

We love it!

Back home and ready to go.

Back home just in time for 4th of July fireworks!
A lot has happened with the house but first...a present from my painter lady, Reese!
Next are photos of the new living room and dining area and kitchen!

Still have some work to do but this will be it for now.
Meanwhile, I've created some new harnesses for my shop.
Will get them listed tomorrow!

I forgot to tell you about Mabel !

In the interim...
Mabel came to us as a give up.
It was said she was 14 years but we suspect she was much older.
We took her in for a couple days and she stole our hearts.
Toothless, mostly blind and sweet.
She went on to an old dog sanctuary in Utah where she peacefully passed.
Beautiful little soul.

New house rehab

Kind of tired  after spending the day cleaning out cabinets and general clean up. It will be worth it once we're done with everything until something else needs to be done.
We decided to put off remodeling the master bath until maybe December.
Tomorrow we move mostly everything into the garage so we can clean up the old house.
So here's a before of the kitchen
Kind of blah looking.
Here is a during photo.
Starting to look much better.
Now we'll add the stove and microwave and clean up the floor and in the future, add granite counters.

Found a House!

We bought a house on May 11.
It's now June 2 and we're just now able to see how nice it's going to be!

Adventures in Fostering

I get asked about fostering a lot.
Most people ask me how I'm able to give my fosters up?
They say they would end up keeping all of them.
Let me tell you, after 31 fosters, we've had a few that  were difficult to let go.
First and foremost, these pups that come into our life aren't ours.
We take them in and do work with them to assess what type home would be the best suited to their personality and needs.
Not to say we don't  hug, cuddle and love them.
We sure do.
By the time they are ready to be placed in a forever home, we have a pretty good idea of what the pup needs and most of the time it's not our home.

Also, if we start getting too attached, we go over our mantra.
They leave us so we can take another.
There's always another.

Foster break!

I'm taking a short break with  fostering.
We're looking for a house to buy and it's taking a lot of time.
So, in the meantime I have some tips on selling online.

Listen to your customers.
Really listen to them.
Allow them to give advice.
Pay attention to what they're doing with your item.
Help them love their purchase.
If they want an item to use daily as a functional product but they are asking you about a decorative product, turn their attention to what you feel is a better choice.
If they choose not to accept your advice, be graceful.
You will earn trust and have a happy returning customer.
That's what we all want, right?
Perfect example. Pretty dress functions well as a harness. Mia's new favorite walking outfit!

Foster #30

Our little foster #30 came and went so fast, I almost didn't have time to celebrate the milestone!
Moses was an easy pup to foster.
That was nice of  www.wecareforanimals.org
Moses was adopted 10 days after we got him!
Yay!

Now on to the next one.
In the meantime, Easter is right around the corner.
New from my shop.
Easter harness dress for the Easter Parade!

Feels like Spring here.

I know. No one wants to hear this.
68 degrees today with a beautiful full sun makes you think of spring days.
I made this in anticipation.
